Waychit Payment Gateway

The Gambia mobile money aggregator (Wave, QMoney, Afrimoney) via Waychit Payment Requests. Customers are redirected to the Waychit hosted pay page, which opens the Waychit app to complete payment; the signed payment.request.completed webhook is the source of truth.

Setup guidance

  1. Create a Waychit merchant account at merchant.waychit.com and copy the API key.
  2. Register the webhook URL below and subscribe to payment.request.completed, then copy the webhook signing secret.
  3. Ask Waychit support to whitelist the app deep link for your merchant, otherwise captive customers cannot open the Waychit app to pay.

Configuration requirements

Enter these values in the matching gateway settings. Obtain credentials from the provider and keep them private.

API Key Required
Sent as the Bearer token when creating payment requests.
Webhook Signing Secret Required
Required. Webhooks with an unverifiable Waychit-Signature are rejected, so payments will never be credited without this.
Currency Required
Must match the collection currency configured on your Waychit merchant account.
Webhook / Return URL Optional
Register in the Waychit dashboard. Also used as the HTTPS success/failure redirect that hops customers back to the hotspot portal.
