How to Choose an ISP Billing System in Kenya

Evaluate payment confirmation, router compatibility, billing definitions, migration and support with a practical pilot checklist.

STEP 01

Test the workflows that pay your bills

List the access types and payment methods your subscribers actually use. Verify merchant requirements and callback/reconciliation behavior. Test a failed payment and a delayed confirmation as well as the successful path.

STEP 02

Check compatibility at device level

Ask about the actual model, firmware, Controller arrangement and topology. A vendor logo is not a complete compatibility matrix. Use a pilot device rather than assuming every product from a manufacturer behaves identically.

STEP 03

Compare the whole billing policy

Clarify what counts as an active account, included allowances, hotspot commission or tiers, installation charges and any first-month payment. Review trial conditions and gateway charges separately. Avoid comparing only the headline unit price.

STEP 04

Evaluate migration and support

Check import fields, credential handling, expiry mapping and rollback. Read the public documentation and ask concrete deployment questions. Treat customer totals, rankings or uptime promises as claims requiring evidence.
