Migrating Subscribers: A Preparation Checklist

Prepare account exports, plan and router mappings, balances, expiry checks, a pilot and rollback before migrating an ISP billing platform.

STEP 01

Define the migration scope

Separate subscriber account fields from historical transactions, network configuration and merchant settings. Confirm which data the available importer supports. Do not assume every field or historical ledger can be copied automatically.

STEP 02

Prepare and protect the export

Check duplicate usernames, service type, account status, balance, plan, expiry, router mapping and applicable IP fields. Treat exported passwords and customer details as sensitive. Use an agreed protected transfer method, not a public support message.

STEP 03

Validate a representative sample

Include an active account, an expired account and each service type you intend to move. Use the MikroTik PPPoE dry-run option where applicable. Confirm login, expiry, balance and plan outcomes before importing the remainder.

STEP 04

Plan cutover and recovery

Keep backups and a record of mappings. Agree the cutover sequence and how to handle payments received during the move. Test a renewal and reconnection after migration and retain a workable rollback path.
