Network and access

How do I manage fiber customers and OLTs?

Connect your OLT, monitor ONU status and signal health, and attach an ONU to a customer's account.

If you deliver service over fiber, PayGrid tracks the optical network alongside the rest of your subscriber base. OLT pages live under Fiber & OLT; the connection settings for your OLT provider live under Settings → OLT.

Connecting an OLT

Settings → OLT supports three ways to reach your equipment:

  • SmartOLT cloud API - enter the API domain and token.
  • SmartComms - enter the API domain and token, and register a webhook so status changes flow back in. The webhook secret can be rotated, and the connection can be tested and disconnected.
  • Direct OLT devices (SNMP) - for equipment you reach directly, with the vendor, IP, SNMP community, and SSH/Telnet ports.

Optional Telegram alerts cover optical events such as a loss of signal (LOS).

The OLT pages

  • Dashboard - the optical network at a glance: ONU counts, signal health distribution, ONU status, and performance by service area.
  • ONU Management - the full ONU inventory with status, signal, PON port, and zone.
  • Hotspot ONUs - optical devices serving hotspot customers.
  • Unconfigured ONUs - ONUs seen on the network but not yet assigned to a customer, ready to be provisioned.

Attaching an ONU to a customer

Staff with router permission can attach a GPON ONU to a customer when creating or editing the account. Searching for an ONU matches on serial, ONU name, username, customer phone or name, or PON port. Once linked, the ONU's details - provider, serial, name, OLT, PON port, status, signal, and zone - appear on the customer's Attached ONU panel. The link can be removed, or replaced with a different ONU.
