Network → IP Bindings manages devices that should not use the captive portal login - a smart TV, a decoder, a camera, or any device with no browser. A binding applies to one router and is either a Bypass (the device skips the portal) or a Block (the device is denied access).
Bindings are per router, so the same customer can have a bypassed TV on one router and nothing on another.
Creating a binding
- Bind With - bind the device to a Plan or to a Voucher.
- Plan - for plan bindings, the hotspot package the device gets. Only active hotspot plans are offered.
- Connection type - for plan bindings:
- Free - the device connects immediately with no payment.
- Prompt - an STK push is sent to the customer's phone; the device connects once it is paid.
- Voucher Code - for voucher bindings, the code that funds the device.
- Type - Bypass or Block.
- MAC Address - the device's hardware address, entered as
AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF. - Router - the MikroTik the binding applies to.
Scan for Devices looks up devices currently visible to the router so you can pick the MAC address instead of typing it.
The plan constraint
A bypassed device does not provide the usage information needed to enforce a data cap. Only time-based, unlimited-data plans can be bound; a data-limited or bundle plan cannot be used for a bypass binding.
Time expiry still applies: the binding is removed automatically when the plan expires.
Working with the list
The list shows each binding's Binding, Name, Router, Plan or Voucher / Account, Type, Online, Status, and Expire On, and offers:
- Sync to router - push the binding to the device again; use this after the router was unreachable, or to reconcile a change made on the router.
- Disconnect - take the entry off the router.
