Omada

How do I set up a TP-Link Omada access point?

Point the AP at Paygrid’s Controller Inform URL, then add the device with MAC, AP login, and guest Wi‑Fi name.

Use this when you choose TP-Link Omada under Network → Devices → Add Device. Paygrid adopts the access point on the hosted Controller, configures RADIUS and the captive portal, and creates your open guest Wi‑Fi.

Before you start

  • An Omada EAP (or compatible Omada AP) with power and internet.
  • The MAC address printed on the device sticker (format AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF).
  • The AP admin username and password you set on the access point itself (not your Paygrid login).

Steps

  1. In Paygrid, open Add Device, choose TP-Link Omada, and leave the slideover open.
  2. Power the access point and connect it to the internet.
  3. On the AP settings page, open System → Controller Settings → Controller Inform URL.
  4. Paste the Inform URL shown in the amber helper box in Paygrid (click it to copy), then Save.
  5. Back in Paygrid, enter:
    • Access point MAC
    • AP username / AP password
    • Guest Wi‑Fi name (SSID) — open guest network; customers authenticate on the Paygrid portal
  6. Press Add. Keep the panel open until status shows ready, then open the device.

What Paygrid does after you press Add

  • Uses (or creates) a Controller site for your ISP account
  • Adopts the access point
  • Configures External RADIUS and the Paygrid captive portal on that site
  • Creates or updates the guest SSID

When the device shows Online, guests joining that SSID should reach your captive portal.

Troubleshooting

  • Still Pending / not Online — confirm Inform URL was saved on the AP, the AP has internet, and the MAC matches the sticker. Use Retry adopt or Reconfigure device from the device page if needed.
  • Wrong guest Wi‑Fi name — change it later with Change guest Wi‑Fi name on the device page.
  • MikroTik routers — use the MikroTik path on Add Device instead; see How do I view and manage routers?.
